The Home Management Committee (HMC) Meeting of the Open Shelter, Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Ukkadam, Coimbatore, was held on 10 September 2026 at the Fr. Selvadurai Memorial Hall, with 20 members participating.
The meeting reviewed the activities of the Open Shelter and Reception Unit from April to June 2026, focusing on the children’s education, healthcare, counselling, recreation, and overall development. Children also shared their positive experiences of living and studying at Anbu Illam.
The Director, Fr. Arnold Mahesh, emphasized the importance of collective support from staff, parents, schools, government departments, and the community for the well-being and holistic development of children. Representatives from the District Child Protection Unit, Police, schools, health services, parents, and other stakeholders appreciated the services and initiatives of Anbu Illam.
The meeting concluded with a focus on strengthening educational and healthcare support, parental involvement, children’s self-confidence, and timely coordination with government departments.
